About
Our financial practice has evolved over the years since it's humble beginnings in 1989. After two decades of teaching voice and piano lessons, my mother, Karen, became a financial advisor with Mutual of New York (MONY), serving individual clients whose financial advisors had retired or left MONY. The practice blossomed quickly as the financial returns and trust that clients had with her quickly brought referrals and what started with rudderless clients quickly became a word-of-mouth only business. Rooted in her background in education and born out of near bankruptcy solely caring for two parents in long-term care for years, Karen's focus for her clients has always been rooted in education and growth with a balance of protection through unique planning.
Needing to chart my own path, I went to law school and had the privilege of serving the American people from far reaches of the globe, the Pentagon, and the United States Capitol. After fifteen years in Washington, DC, I returned home to Alaska. Shortly thereafter, I unexpectedly lost my father, which caused me to rethink priorities, family, and my potential calling. At the risk of regretting an opportunity to work with my mother, I started to devour securities exam materials, swiftly passing the Series 6, 63, 65, and 7 securities exams, the Alaska Life Insurance exam, and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designation. I have been working with clients since 2020 and my passion for public service has translated to a passion for serving the individual through wealth management and qualified plan expertise and advice.
However, the history of how I ended up in this business actually started over a hundred years ago, when my great-grandfather also pivoted from managing the family farm to becoming an insurance broker in 1928. I have nearly a century of ancestral experience pointing me toward my future of serving you.
